Firstly please allow me to introduce myself and tell you a bit about how I became an upcoming automotive photographer.

My name is Kira Lemaitre, I am 19 years of age and I am a huge car enthusiast and photographer.

Having grown up around cars, I have found myself to have a strong passion in them, whether that is working on them at my dad's garage or admiring them with my own eyes or a camera whilst at shows and car meets.

Before I started taking photos of cars, I initially started small and took pictures of people, animals and nature whenever I could. A few years ago, I went to VW Action at Santapod Raceway for the weekend and decided to take my camera as I had the opportunity to finally take some photographs of cars. While clicking away on my camera, I started to really enjoy taking these images and that's when I knew I wanted to progress into this in much more detail.

After that weekend, I went to a car meet every week and took my trusted camera along with me and began capturing different angles of various cars whilst there. Eventually, I started to create a logo and made up some business cards to leave on cars that I had taken a photograph of, leaving my business cards on their window screens informing them that they had 'been snapped'.

I was very surprised when I received a huge amount of messages from owners of these cars that I had 'snapped'.

At that moment in time I knew I needed to create a way to network with different people to do 1:1 sessions with and get myself out there into the world of automotive photography.

I knew it wouldn't be easy and I would have to take baby steps as it can be a very competitive industry as there are so many people out there also pursuing this market. But I don't want that to stop me following my dreams of being an automotive photographer.

All I can do in this type of industry is try my hardest and of course, have fun with it!!
